Musical artist CLOVER (she/her) is often said to have similar musical stylings to Dua Lipa and Fleetwood Mac. CLOVER’s newest single, from her upcoming EP, Atlas, “Used to It” encapsulates her fondness of 60’s and 70’s disco pop with a modern, contemporary feel. Atlas will be released on May 30th and will showcase CLOVER’s unique sound.
The New Jersey-born singer and songwriter, CLOVER, took her first step into a mainstream crowd when auditioning for The Voice but ultimately decided to drop out from the premiere to protect her artistry. She also organically grows her image the way she sees fit. When she’s not performing gigs in New York City, she’s a fierce activist for women’s rights and co-wrote “Power” for MILCK, featured on ABC’s Women’s History Month.
CLOVER’s inspiration behind “Used to It” takes inspiration from her nomadic lifestyle performing her music while traveling with her partner during COVID-19. CLOVER describes that time period as “the magic, the spontaneity, and the bittersweet feeling that it all seemed too good to be true. It’s a celebration of radical freedom, love, and living on the road.”
CLOVER shares through her latest single the nostalgia she has for the feelings of freedom she experienced during the pandemic despite the restrictions of 2020. “Used to It” is the perfect road-trip song for a group of friends or solo travel and admire the new sights from the road. CLOVER’s vocals, dreamy and echo-y, complement the tune and aren’t overshadowed by the constant guitar riffs in the back. It’s catchy, free-spirited, and paints CLOVER’s experience beautifully with her excellent writing.
“Used to It” is a quick taste of CLOVER’s spontaneity and nomadic spirit. It’s not flashy, or overproduced; it contains the right ingredients for an early spring and summer hit, and with Atlas on the horizon, she’s one step closer to becoming a household name.
