If you listen to the “stutter house” genre, then you have heard of BUNT.. He’s a German electronic artist / producer who recently dropped an anthem called “Crown”. The single gives listeners the motivation to keep going and never give up.
The song reflects BUNT.’s personal life after he quit his job to focus on music. However, once COVID hit, he was forced to move back to Germany and work three jobs. Although those may seem like impossible odds, he let his passion drive and continued working on music. In late 2022 he got recognition for “Clouds”, and got to work with Ellie Goulding, Sam Tomkins, Elley Duhe, and, most recently Tiesto. In 2023, he went from 12 shows to, as mentioned in his press release, “over 120+ shows in 2024.”
When first listening to the single, I was shocked by the lack of lyrics. BUNT. delivers a repetitive one-liner that is strong-willed and energetic, giving listeners the anthem they need to get a boost of encouragement. BUNT. shows that lyrics are strong, but have a deeper meaning with the help of a unique beat. I believe the beat meshes well with the intention of the song. Sounds of a “dreamy soundscape” with high and low pitches to give listeners the escapism of strength. Plus, the changes in the pace as the song progresses is creative at its finest.
