Let’s Head "The Way Back Down" With Troubled Minds.

Grunge with a splash of raw and organic melancholy. This statement alone barely grazes the artistry behind Troubled Minds’ newest single, “The Way Back Down.” What a way to start the new year with this explosive hit. Arizona’s own Emo-Punk band consisting of members Matt, Riley, Ryan, and Saban are the quartet behind Troubled Minds’ excitingly fierce and sharp sound.

“The Way Back Down” is a personal confession of fractured friendships matched with distressed, heart wrenching vocals by lead singer Matt. The opening guitar and bass riffs interchange from being the center and the other’s shadow to create a unique balance that allows Riley’s drumming to carry the listener through the melody’s journey. The tone’s atmosphere creates a vulnerability for the listener to imagine the singer’s emotional predicament until reaching the climax. The repeating chorus, “Hope you enjoy the way back down” hammers the intensity behind each note, a kind of desperateness that can rarely be portrayed authentically. In Troubled Mind’s own words, “The song is about the importance of supporting your friends in their endeavors, having people’s back because you know they have yours too. I feel like I’ve ran into a lot of people who just want to take on this life with nothing to give back…Lines like "hope you enjoy the way back down. No one to catch your fall, no one seems to care at all," embody that.”

“The Way Back Down” is unapologetically attention-grabbing and a testament to Troubled Minds' ever-changing sound that sticks to their roots.
