Paul Russell Releases Debut EP, again sometime?, A Feel-Good Love Story for Every Celebration

The last time we covered Paul Russell (he/him), everyone was eagerly awaiting his debut EP, again sometime?. Since then, its official release occurred on August 30, 2024, and this collection has become the tracks for backyard or block parties, or for bringing friends, family, and neighbors together.

Russell has gone viral and made appearances on multiple platforms, including Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Graham Norton Show, The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and American Idol. If you enjoy the sounds of Anderson .Paak, OutKast, and Louis Armstrong, you'll love Russell's music.

The EP is described as “part one in a series of stories I want to tell. This first EP is a love story in seven scenes, capturing the journey through the highlights of a budding relationship—from dreaming of togetherness to celebrating a newfound connection and professing long-term love.” It opens with the familiar track "Homecoming", followed by "Slippin'" featuring Meghan Trainor. His old-school vibe creates a groovy sound throughout, making it the kind of feel-good music that invites smiles and dancing with loved ones. While I have a soft spot for "Lil Boo Thang", I also enjoyed the slower groove of "Twist My Arm".

Paul Russell is an artist that you should keep on your radar. He’ll be working with a couple of other artists, like Teddy Swims on his first European tour, and Meghan Trainor on her North American arena tour.
