R E L Releases New EP Medicine, Offering a Raw and Relatable Soundtrack to Self-Love

WRITTEN BY CHERRYLLE URBANO

You might recognize R E L from her track "Night City" on the Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack, a collaboration with Artemis Delta. But in her new EP Medicine, she’s showing a different side of herself—one that’s raw and intimate, built around her powerful vocals and acoustic guitar. The EP features three tracks: “Medicine,” “Intuition,” and “Canary.” With over 30 million streams, R E L is carving out a space for herself in the music world, offering a refreshing break from the tech-heavy, AI-driven sound of the times.

“Medicine” is the EP’s emotional centerpiece. The melody is catchy, and the riffs are infectious, making it a song you can’t help but sing along to. It quickly became one of my favorites, though honestly, it was a tough call with the other two songs. There's a nostalgic vibe to it—something about it feels like a breath of fresh air, reminding me of those '00s anthems that never get old. R E L has a unique ability to make her music relatable, using it as a platform to teach her listeners about self-love and acceptance.

“Intuition” shifts to a slower, more introspective tone. R E L’s vulnerability shines through as she builds tension in the first half of the song, releasing it in the emotional bridge. You can really feel the weight of what she’s singing, and it’s one of those tracks that stays with you long after it’s over. It’s raw, personal, and a perfect example of how music can be both cathartic and powerful.

The EP closes with “Canary,” which brings a lighter, more peaceful vibe. It’s a beautiful, simple track that blends the energy of the previous two songs into something airy and gentle. This is the kind of song I’d put on while relaxing on a summer day, just letting it wash over me.

With Medicine, R E L proves she’s an artist to watch, one with the versatility and emotional depth to stand out in today’s music scene.
