Zach Hood and ROSIE’s New Single, “Happy Ever After” Out Now!

WRITTEN BY NEVAEH TILLMAN

Finding closure can be hard, but having a song summarize exactly how you feel can be the closure you need from a break-up. Zach Hood and ROSIE joined forces to release a new single, “Happily Ever After.” Hood and ROSIE may sound familiar from your playlist. They both had similar starts to their careers in the music industry through the help of social media. ROSIE broke out with her single “Never the 1” through TikTok and signed with Arista Records. Zach Hood, a kid from Alabama who followed his dreams, posted his talents on social media and signed with Arista Records as well.

I appreciate how both artists continue to stay true to themselves and their visionary outlook on life. Zach Hood shares, before meeting ROSIE for their writing session, “I had the lyric, ‘If it’s happy ever after, why am I not happy after losing you,’ ready for the session. Weirdly enough, on the plane ride to Nashville, she also had written the lyric ‘Happy Ever After’ on a piece of paper without knowing I had done the same. If that’s not fate I don't know what is.” Sounds like this song was meant to be, not only for them to collaborate, but for their audiences to listen to this bittersweet song.

Both of their songwriting abilities allow for emotional lyrics to shine through. It’s unique to see two sides of the story—this allows the listeners to receive clarity on the breakup. For this song in particular, the listeners receive a third perspective: the couple’s perspectives and then… the truth. This song depicts that exact feeling. It’s about “two young romantics on the other side of a breakup, outwardly wishing their ex well, but actually feeling the opposite.” I’m sure we can all think of one person who we miss but knew it was for the best. Sometimes, our happily ever after is better off without them. Their vocals are sung beautifully with the acoustic beat. I feel like I don’t listen to enough songs with an acoustic guitar. Listening to this song was music to my ears… literally.

I love both these artists separately, so knowing they collaborated made this song extra special. Continue streaming this single, and who knows, maybe we can get another collaboration from them again soon!
